Still Walking

As a child, I had a wind-up toy in the shape of shoes. Although it seemed to have already come to a standstill, a slight impulse would make it take a few more steps. This moment of in-between — between stopping and continuing — is carried within the work Still Walking. It points to persistence despite exhaustion, to the one step that remains possible when one believes they have reached the end. During a marathon, at work, and everywhere movement becomes more than mere locomotion.
